Entcho Demirov is an Assistant Professor, Department of Physics and Physical Oceanography, Memorial University. His area of interest is ocean modelling, data assimilation, and operational oceanography. Before arriving in Canada he was involved in the development of the 3D ocean model of the Joint Research Center of the European Community and participated in the implementation of the Mediterranean Forecasting System (MFS) where he was responsible for the implementation of the circulation model and assimilation scheme. He was also a principal investigator for the "Forecasting at basin scale" project of the European Union project "Mediterranean Forecasting System: Towards Environment Prediction”.
