William Merryfield is a Research Scientist at Canadian Center for Climate Modelling and Analysis (CCCma) and an Adjunct Professor, School of Earth and Ocean Sciences, University of Victoria. He is responsible for development and application of the ocean component of the CCCma coupled model. His areas of expertise include ocean modelling, ocean processes and parameterizations, tropical climate variability, numerical methods and predictability. He has extensive experience in designing experiments involving the ocean circulation and coupled climate models, which will play a substantial role in Theme II of the proposal, as well as in analysing and interpreting coupled model results.
