Michael Stacey is on the Faculty of the Department of Physics, Royal Military College of Canada. He has years of experience as a numerical modeler, studying the circulation in fjords to a better understand of the fate of tidal energy in the fjord. Analyses of the influence of the wind on the circulation in fjords have resulted in improved turbulence parameterizations for use in numerical models. More recently, Dr Stacey has been studying the circulation in the North Pacific Ocean, with emphasis on the Northeast Pacific and has investigated the ability of Spectral Nudging to improve the simulation of the eddy activity in the Northeast Pacific.
